Festival

The fourteenth Kilkim Žaibu, held in Varniai in 2013, marked another step forward. We broadened the musical programme, welcomed more renowned performers and expanded both the activities and the spaces devoted to living history. The festival drew a larger audience than in previous years, while warmer weather finally brought some relief after several rainy editions.

Although rain arrived towards the end, it did little to dampen the festive spirit. There were organisational difficulties and some bands were delayed, but all invited participants arrived and took part. The friendly audience, the work of our volunteers, installations by students from the Telšiai Faculty of Arts and support from our longstanding friends Samogitian MC all helped create a welcoming atmosphere.

This time, we filmed the event with four professional cameras and gathered a wealth of quality footage and audio recordings. For us, the festival was a success that renewed our enthusiasm. While memories of the fourteenth edition were still fresh, we were already preparing for our fifteenth anniversary gathering.
