About the festival

In short

KILKIM ŽAIBU is a festival of Baltic culture and extreme music, held in Lithuania since 1999. It currently takes place at the President Antanas Smetona Manor, on the shore of Lake Lėnas in the Ukmergė district.

In more detail

KILKIM ŽAIBU is a festival of alternative music and arts that brings together heavy guitar music with ethnic culture and folklore. It is organised by the "Pikuolis" association, a non-profit that unites enthusiasts and volunteers.

The festival has its roots in Žiemgala (it was held in Joniškis), later moved to Samogitia (Varniai, by Lake Lūkstas), and for several years now has taken place in the Ukmergė district, at the historic manor of President Antanas Smetona.

KILKIM ŽAIBU is the oldest festival of its kind in Lithuania. A blend of heavy music and ethnic culture under one roof is rare in Europe and beyond, which is why almost half of the visitors come from abroad.
