Kilkim Žaibu, festival of old traditions and heavy music is going to rock you for the 16th time. This year the festival takes place on June 26-27 in Žagarė, Lithuania's capital of culture for 2015. For two days and nights old traditions and alternative music will take places in turns. The territory will be split in two zones: active one for concerts, games and contests and calm zone for camping.
June 26th Friday
15.00 - Opening of the festival, lighting of festival fire, introduction of traditions of Rasa (Lithuanian Summer Solstice) festivities, collection of nine herbs, crown weaving, traditional games and spells…

21.00 – 21.30 Medieval fights. According to written sources from IX-XI centuries, Scandinavian Vikings used to raid the lands of Semigallia. Historical re-enactors will stage a raid similar to how they might have looked, including historically accurate replica of a Viking ship.

Ancient arts & crafts to expect in ancient program of Solstice: blacksmithing, Baltic jewelry, bone-working, amber-working, girdle-weaving, clothes sewing, leather crafts, pottery. Demonstration of medieval fights and contests / games for the audience organized by historical reenactment clubs: Jotvos Sūnūs, Pera Sudinoi, Pilsots, Heiligenberg, Exercitus Rigensis, Kroma Kolna and individual warriors from Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. The opportunity to ride a reconstructed ancient Viking ship is provided by Latvian shipwrights Baltic Snakes.

Additional entertainment and services in the festival
Opportunity to ride ancient ship, educational walks along wonderful trails of Oz of Žagarė and Žvelgaitis mound, horse riding in Žagarė, trail to oldest ritual stone in tyrelis swamp, volleyball field, beach, rental of rooms, tents and sleeping bags, musical merchandise shops. Ask for more information at the festival information center.
Entrance / Tickets
Tickets are sold at the entrance to the territory.
Tickets for two days cost 35€
The offer “six for the price of five” will be invalid.
Single-day ticket cost 20€
Single day tickets are sold only during the time of festival. If you are buying the ticket for Friday, you will be charged full price (35€) and will get the difference (15€) upon leaving on Saturday. You must leave before 12:00.
Family ticket for 2 days: 60 €. Family ticket is valid for two adults and all children. You must provide necessary documents to prove paternity.
Disabled and senior citizens (retired) gets 50% discount. Discounted tickets are sold only at the entrance and require documents to prove the status.
You can arrive and leave the festival by any means comfortable. Many people arrive a day before – Thursday evening. The campsite and car parking are free. Paid and secured parking area will also be provided.
