The majority of metal fans usually relate the concept of Brazilian metal with the name SEPULTURA. However, this enormous country is full of heavy music bands. And, this time, KILKIM ŽAIBU 2024 will introduce CRYPTA – an all-women band, which has never been to Lithuania before.
They will enrich the festival’s lineup with an aggressive, unpolished sound of death metal elements, spiced with a modern touch. Although the band is relatively new, their unique work and quality have quickly established them among the ranks of well-known metal bands. Fans all over the world love CRYPTA’s dynamic shows and dedication to authentic and energetic metal.
The band was founded in 2019 by musicians already well-known in the metal world. Fernanda Lira and Luana Dametto are former members of NERVOSA thrash metal band. The guitars – Jéssica Falchi and Tainá Bergamaschi – are not new to the metal world either, as both of them have started playing in heavy music bands about ten years ago.
Dametto’s mastery of the drums was acknowledged by Drumeo online drummer magazine – she was nominated for the Drummer of the Year award. Her competitors for the title are the legendary Lars Ulrich from METALLICA and Tanner Wayne from IN FLAMES.
Under the patronage of Napalm Records, this talented team of musicians have only a couple of albums so far. However, quality is high over quantity. Their first collection Echoes of the Soul, released in 2021, was like a hurricane in the metal world. Not many bands could boast of an invitation to play at Wacken Open Air right after the release of their first album. Shades of Sorrow, released last year, continues on the same ideological path with an even more refined sound. Thus, rest assured that CRYPTA will be welcomed on many stages of the upcoming summer.
Critics and metal music fans received both of their albums very well. Their hard work at the studio and energy on stage is a clear indication that this midsummer at the Manor of the President Antanas Smetona will feature really promising rising stars. There is no doubt that metal fans missing this gig will definitely regret it ten years later.
The festival's enormous lineup is full of other metal stars too. These include the already well-known ROTTING CHRIST and VULTURE INDUSTRIES, as well as CARPATHIAN FOREST and MY DYING BRIDE coming to Lithuania for the first time, and more than ten other bands. KILKIM ŽAIBU visitors will also be able to get to know the life of the ancient Lithuania, watch medieval fights, take part at a Viking football tournament or enjoy many other activities, offered by the festival team.
KILKIM ŽAIBU 2024 will take place at the Manor of the President Antanas Smetona in Ukmergė during the Summer Solstice on 21-23 June.
