Festival KILKIM ŽAIBU XVIII will be happening June 29 – July 1, three days and three nights near the Lūkstas lake in Varniai.
JUNE 29, THURSDAY

23.00 – 23.20 The Great battle of the evening in the envelopment of fire. Curonians loot in the lands of Samogitia.

FESTIVAL ACTIVITIES
12.00 – 12.50 Ancient competitions, trial of the warrior. Competitions for ladies and men.
12.50 – 13.30 The similarities and differences of Baltic and Scandinavian tribes. The demonstration of Scandinavian Vikings and Curonians X-XII age costumes and armor, applying weapons in the fight.
15.30 – 16.20 Ancient competitions, Viking football. Finals.
17.20 – 18.10 Battle circle. Ancient Baltic warriors fight for the name of the strongest warrior.Finals.
19.00 – 22.00 Painting of KŽ canvas. The topic is “From the symbolism of the festival to corpse paint”. Everybody can paint.
20.00 – 22.00 Preparation for the culmination of the festival: painting on body. It will take place near the KŽ canvas.
23.20 – 00.00 Firing the big festival bonfires, a ritual of fire.
02.10 – 03.30True metal party with DJ KŽ.
JULY 2, SUNDAY
12.00 – 15.00 Musical background, cleaning the surroundings, saying goodbye, leaving.
In the festival you could also find:
OUTDOOR CAFÉ CINEMA
· Everyday 17.00 and 19.00 Varniai regional park will show films about the nature of Samogitia, places to visit, historical and natural monuments.
· On the other time (day and night), there will be historical, documental and other movies united by Baltic topic.
ACTIVE EXPERIENCES
· Paintball. In the territory of camping there is a newly established war field in which you could test your powers in the paintball battles. Even 60 players could play at once.
· Sumo. With the special costumes you could feel the real power and weight of sumo wrestlers…
· Archers. Near the warriors’ village you could try to shoot with an ancient arc.
WATER ACTIVITIES
· There is a beach, where you could also rent water bicycles and boats.
SPORTS
· There are basketball and volleyball courts in the territory.
Festival territory will be very spacious this year. It will be divided into two areas: active and relaxed. In the big field the thunders will roar, and in the recreational field there will be a spacious “comfortable” campsite. There you will be able to park your car right next to the tent. The “comfortable” campsite will be charged with an ecologic fee. The usual camping will be free of charge.
