YOTH IRIA

Seven years ago, YOTH IRIA was founded by one of the key figures in the Greek metal scene, bassist Jim Mutilator, who helped lay the foundations for such legends as ROTTING CHRIST and VARATHRON. The band marked the musician’s return, allowing him to bring his own black metal vision to life - paying tribute to his homeland’s roots while simultaneously surrendering to the relentless force of evolution: a union of past and future, flesh and spirit, fire and void.

But that’s just how the Greeks are — masters of epic, atmospheric, and dark black metal. Among them, YOTH IRIA stand out for their particularly grandiose sound, perhaps the most warlike in spirit, romanticizing both the historical motifs of their homeland and journeys through the religious layers of the centuries. The band’s music ranges from mid-paced to fast, with monumental impressions amplified by orchestral arrangements and an added sense of grandeur brought by Oriental influences.
