Folk band VILKAČI are Latvian werewolves, who were founded over twenty years ago. Inspired by history, ancient traditions and cultural heritage, they aim to popularize the uniqueness of folk music, instill love for their homeland and inspire patriotism in the younger generation while embodying the spirits of ancient warriors, their desire for freedom and thirst for victory. VILKAČI are actively performing in Latvia and mostly focuses on spreading the ancient Latvian traditions and world-view.
The archaic folklore band VILKAČI had performed in KILKIM ŽAIBU festival 21 years ago. It was so long ago it feels like a different lifetime. In that time, nearly all the band members have changed. Therefore, we can claim that this solid Latvian folklore band’s performance will be real news to the festival’s audience.
