VALKENRAG

The band deserves some credit for accurately nailing the required aesthetic. These guys also have the bright idea of tasteful implementation of all instruments, which thickens the sound immensely without sullying the final vision. Their songs offer up a dark haunt and are absolutely tense and mesmerizing.

VALKENRAG is melodic death metal band from Lodz. The music they play is inspired by Nordic, Slavic and a broad range of pre-Christian beliefs. The band has releasedLP “Twilight of blood and flesh”, a couple of smaller works and  has made appearances with many bands from abroad such as Ensiferum, Skalmold, Cruachan, Taake, NeguraBunget, Valkyriaand many others.

Initially, this band was only an idea in the minds of two musicians who earlier played in "Slaughterhouse". In 2006, Jorgh and Lorghat decided to transform thought into action. Thus, in 2008, Valkenrag recorded their first demo entitled "Nordwind”.In 2010, a bassist and aguitarist joined the lineup, and the side project Valkenragbecame a fully functioning band. Also, in 2012 they released an EP “Valkenrag”. With the advent of 2015 the band completed mixing and mastering of the material and they focused on refining the graphic side of "Twilight of blood and flesh”.
