Born on the west coast of the United States, in the state of Oregon, UADA spreads the undying flame of black metal. Shaped by the region’s rain-soaked and misty landscapes, their music oozes atmosphere and melodic gloom. Today, the four-piece is one of the driving forces of modern American black metal, often hailed as the genre’s answer to its European counterparts.
They may not be reinventing the wheel, but UADA have carved their place as one of the essential forces in today’s black metal scene. Frequently likened to the cult Polish MGŁA, UADA draw stronger inspiration from the second wave of Swedish black metal – the classic, melodic, and unmistakably distinctive sound. Their sound drips with atmosphere, vivid melody, and striking vocal lines that make UADA impossible to mistake for anyone else – and their unorthodox image only adds to the forbidden allure.
Veiled in mystery and deeply inspired by nature, the musicians fuse the genre’s traditional sound with richly melodic passages and driving rhythms. Tempering the aggression with subtler tones, UADA delivers top-tier atmospheric black metal.
