THE RUINS OF BEVERAST

The beginning of THE RUINS OF BEVERAST was in 2003 in Aachen, Germany. The special thing about the band is that it is a one-man project mentored by Alexander von Meilenwald. Though it is a quite common phenomenon between Black Metal bands, in this case one could be amazed by his productivity and creativity. Alexander has already released four full-length albums, two splits, one compilation and debuted with a demo album. All his works have been evaluated very highly by reviewers. One of them says that it is “one of the best Black Metal musicians in Germany”, and other says that “musically, artistically, lyrical this is as unique as it gets in the Metal underground”.

Though Alexander is strewed with epithets, he doesn’t rest on his laurels. Every single piece of work that he creates contains its own mood, cold atmosphere and moves a listener to his darkest corners of subconsciousness. His concerts are pure black masses – atmospheric chords and sounds of organ hypnotize and force you to bow the dark forces. Also, the powerful vocal makes you believe in a message that THE RUINS OF BEVERAST carry. Though through many years the manner of vocals hasn’t changed but it newly accommodates to new creation every time.

It seems that this musician perfectly tacks the line between a great technique of playing and maintaining a mystical atmosphere. Though THE RUINS OF BEVERAST is evaluated the most for its atmosphere but over time the band still discovers perfect accords which are complemented by tasteful nuances of Doom.
