Long-time champions of death metal, SINISTER, one of the Netherlands’ oldest metal bands, are approaching their four-decade milestone. This November, the band will release their fifteenth studio album, Lucid Nightmares, and you can be sure it delivers their trademark formula: massive guitars, a powerful, full-bodied vocal assault, and a raging storm of brutal, old-school death metal!

Despite a constant lineup turnover throughout their career, the band has managed to maintain a consistent musical identity rooted in tradition. Faithful to the genre’s core elements, SINISTER have little interest in experimenting or adapting to modern trends. Their music follows a clear-cut, straightforward blueprint – in the best possible sense of the word. Chopping riffs, demonic vocals spewing lyrics that slither through darkness, death, and the underworld, backed by a ferocious rhythm section – this four-piece delivers classic, time-tested, no-frills death metal that never disappoints.

Even within the Netherlands’ thriving death metal scene, steeped in a rich tradition, SINISTER were pioneers, among the first to gain significant recognition beyond their homeland.
