SCYTHIAN

Born in London and forged in fire and ice, SCYTHIAN are the sound of war made flesh. Brought up on the teachings of Bathory, Sodom and Morbid Angel, this idiosyncratic UK band burst onto the scene in 2007, with the release of a demo called "Suffering to the Conquered".

After receiving huge praise in the underground, they signed to Greek label Necroterror Records, releasing their debut "To Those Who Stand Against Us..." a forceful impact of war metal, astral melodies and tales of forgotten peoples. In 2011, joined by Alexandros (Macabre Omen) they released a split with Greek pagans KAWIR, titled "Grunwald: Anno Satanae 1410", an 8-minute epic about the triumph of Poles and Lithuanians against the Teutonic Order at Žalgirio Mušis. It was one of the last released by Nuclear Winter, the now defunct label of Anastasis Valtsanis, Dead Congregation.

After three years of silence, SCYTHIAN's second full length album "Hubris in Excelsis" (Hubris in the Highest) is arrived. Released on August 21st, 2015 by Hell's Headbanger's Records, it was a major step forward for both the band and label, an ambitious take on the death metal genre, recorded by Greg Chandler (Esoteric) and mastered by Leon Macey (Mithras) - both visionary musicians in British extreme metal. SCYTHIAN is the first UK band in to sign with to this legendary all-american name, further diversifying their grip over the genres of black, thrash, doom and death metal.

"Hubris in Excelsis" is a dystopian nightmare, filled with tales of arrogance and human error. Dead Gods, decaying worlds and apocalyptic visions take the band further down their own psychotic fusion of Bathory meets Angelcorpse. Nine blistering tracks, faster, heavier... each different from the last but keeping their own distinct 'Scythian' sound. Songs that scream of the downfall of Gods and their laws, crumbling, desolate places and the darkest reaches of space.

SCYTHIAN looks forward to performing it for you in the unique setting of Kilkim Žaibu and the wilds of Žemaitija. A unique performance of psychedelic death/thrash metal awaits all Baltic metal maniacs!
