The legendary leader of ROTTING CHRIST and arguably the most famous Greek metal musician, SAKIS TOLIS, expanded his musical horizons several years ago by releasing the solo album Among the Fires of Hell. As expected, the debut was a success, and today the full band lineup is shaking festival stages, presenting a long-established, well-known, and compelling formula of heavy music.
The music of SAKIS TOLIS feels like the little sister of ROTTING CHRIST - equally atmospheric, but more melodic and romantic, simpler yet no less effective because of it. Built on the foundations of spacious, epic metal, the music is filled with diverse solos while maintaining grandeur and Sakis’ trademark songwriting elements: memorable choruses, several striking melodic hooks in every track, and of course, his distinctive southern vocal accent.
Over the course of an impressive music career spanning more than four decades, Sakis has earned something of a reputation as a wizard of the stage - everything touched by the Greek musician seems to turn into pure gold. The latest album, Everything Comes to an End, released last year, is another example: a familiar style, light atmospheric and gothic metal sound, yet overall - another product of the very highest quality.
