NIFELHEIM

NIFELHEIM has been a striking force in the metal underground since their inception 25 years ago. This Swedish band started its activity in 1990 and until now it is led by twin brothers Tyrant and Hellbutcher. Their world is inspired by the legendary Iron Maiden and their music is spirited by such bands like Venom, Bathory, Sodom and Tormentor. NIFELHEIM‘s creation is like act from the past – their music is true, Old-School, bringing back the 80‘s when raw, uncompromising and mad music reigned in.

The Swedes recorded their first demo “Unholy Death” in 1992 and since then unleashed old school black metal masterpieces like “Devil’s Force”, “Servants of Darkness”, “Envoy of Lucifer” and recently the highly acclaimed “SataNatas” EP. The band is widely regarded as one of the best live band the genre has to offer with their no holds barred, high-energy performances. The band is currently working on their next full-length album, aimed for a 2016 release.

These guys show that, unlike their contemporaries, they have a very good background in metal as a whole. The band is truly remarkable in their ability to craft excellent songs, never sacrificing the purity of the music and still being able to make each track stand on its own and sound distinct and original. It is amazing how NIFELHEIM is able to sound so old school and so unique, both at the same time. Their songs are filled with blinding speed, killer chaos, wickedly haunting melodies, awakening old demons. There’s absolutely no doubt that if they keep such pace further, some corpses will crawl out of their graves one day!
