HUSKVARN

A little-known fact, but HUSKVARN is one of Latvia’s oldest bands on the heavy music scene, having emerged back in the 1980s. It’s no surprise, then, that their music combines elements of old-school thrash and death metal.

Over the years, the band has endured lengthy, unforeseen hiatuses and the deaths of members of its original lineup. In 2024, HUSKVARN resumed activity and, for now at least, are delighting audiences with live performances. Built around truly heavy guitar riffs and the classic, fear-inducing foundations of death metal, their sound is low and oppressive, featuring raw vocals and muffled drum work that harks back to the 1990s. No trace of melody or modern influences here - HUSKVARN deliver pure old-school metal!

Although the band reached its peak more than thirty years ago with the release of the albums Bomb Brain Melodies and On the Road, we have no doubt that their revived body of work has lost none of its relevance. And who knows - in the coming years, HUSKVARN may yet surprise us with something new and unexpected.
