    HIGH PARASITE

Gothic Metal Rock | United Kingdom

Although HIGH PARASITE is a new name in the dark scene, do not be mistaken – the man at the forefront of this band is Aaron Stainthorpe, the frontman of the legendary MY DYING BRIDE! HIGH PARASITE delivered a striking dose of melodic gothic metal in their brand new album “Forever We Burn“ (2024).

The musicians emphasize that HIGH PARASITE is a completely new and independent project, which, as it seems, is currently drawing all of their attention. The style chosen by the band is nothing unusual either – although dominated by melodious guitar and atmospheric sound, the songs also keep enough dirty, unpolished riffs with a synergy of clean and growl vocals. In essence, this gets you back to the times of the legendary Peaceville trio without the brutal origins in death/doom and with a little lighter and subtle gothic tone. The band refers to themselves as representatives of Death Pop, but the only potential premise of the pop is the fact that at least half of the début album consists of superhits that could add a little darker colour into the shelves of the mainstream music.

HIGH PARASITE will leave a pleasant impression to both melodic metal and gothic rock fans, with inexorable nostalgia to the oldschoolers that still remember “Symbol Of Life“ (2002) by Paradise Lost. Although the name of the band and their ideology look at the man as the greatest parasite of our planet or life, HIGH PARASITE is definitely here to stay, leaving a significant footprint in the scene.
