Defiant and unbreakable, Ukraine has long been known for its mighty and ferocious black metal scene. Yet HELL:ON is a proof that they feel completely at home exploring different branches of the heavy music world. The band’s track record spans almost twenty years of steady work and seven studio releases, with the most recent – „Shaman“ – released in the spring of 2024. HELL:ON may be rooted in old-guard death-metal canon, yet dive boldly into the twists and turns of a modern sound. Their music is as massive as it is atmospheric, layering symphonic keyboards with modernity and a spirit of innovation. They’re happy to throw in more unusual colours – sitar, jaw harp, even bagpipes – and to dabble in throat singing, but make no mistake, this is still aggressive, dark and deadly metal at its core.
