DAYAL PATTERSON

TALK ONE
In late 2013 DAYAL PATTERSON released his first book, ‘Black Metal: Evolution Of The Cult’ on Feral House. Just as importantly, this release coincided with a companion book called ‘Black Metal: Prelude To The Cult’, the first release for CULT NEVER DIES, a publishing house and merchandise company he founded dedicated to underground metal and cult art.
Over the last 4 years the small teamat CULT NEVER DIES has released 8 more books, including several black metal sequels to ‘Evolution…’, an art book by French artist DAVID THIÉRRÉE,a collection of fanzines by ex-MAYHEM vocalist Maniac, a conceptual tome by dungeon synth godfather MORTIIS and a huge book dedicated to doom metal.
At KILKIM ŽAIBU 2018, Dayal will discuss the reasons for setting up CULT NEVER DIES, the challenges involved and some of the hundreds of bands that have been involved, which include the likes of ULVER, MYSTICUM, BEHERIT, SATYRICON, SIGH and LOITS. And speaking of the latter,LOITSfrontmanLembutu will also appear to discuss the experience of being featured in one of these books and his feelings on the project.
TALK TWO
In March 2018 metal/cult music publisher CULT NEVER DIES released their first large format hardback; ‘MORTIIS - SECRETS OF MY KINGDOM: RETURN TO DIMENSIONS UNKNOWN’.
Collecting the original ‘Secrets…’ book written by the dungeon synth godfather in the 90s, the book adds some 100 pages of new material, with extensive interviews with the man (troll) himself, unpublished texts and previously unseen artwork. The result is a thoroughly unique work that immerses the reader into the strange world of both MORTIIS and its relationship with his human alter-egoHÅVARD ELLEFSEN.
Editor and Cult Never Dies founder DAYAL PATTERSON and none other than MORTIIS will be attending KILKIM ŽAIBU 2018 to discuss this strange and bewitching tome and perhaps even signing a few copies…
