    ASAGRAUM

    Black Metal | Netherlands

The collective ASAGRAUM – led by dark goddesses from different corners of Europe – is an example of high-quality traditional black metal. Over more than ten years of activity, the band has released three studio albums and is known for maintaining a rather intensive touring schedule. Sheltered under the wing of Norway’s Edged Circle Productions, ASAGRAUM has hit the mark, carrying forward the finest traditions of Scandinavian black metal.

It is no surprise that the band’s music is defined by a chillingly cold, high-toned sound, second-wave style guitars, screaming vocals, and intense rhythmic sections. They don’t shy away from modern touches either, incorporating more varied and atmospheric clean vocal parts. These women pull no punches, never slow down, and stand shoulder to shoulder with top-tier acts in the genre – something they have proven while touring with or performing alongside black metal stars such as TAAKE and MARDUK.

We would not be mistaken to call ASAGRAUM true and traditional representatives of black metal; at the same time, it should be noted that their music is well–crafted, high–quality, non-primitive – subtle yet immediately graspable. As we await the witches’ new album, ASAGRAUM returns to Lithuania at the height of their career.
