ROTTING CHRIST

Gothic Dark Metal | Greece

The legendary Greek horde ROTTING CHRIST is a band that does not need any introduction. We always are excited to have them on KILKIM ŽAIBU stage as we know that they are going to be simply great. The band was created in 1987, and got its style formed in 1989 and since then this team has proven to be a true gem of Western Culture, creating abstract but also fundamental albums. If you haven’t calculated already - the band is celebrating its 35th anniversary. Experimenting and stylistically shifting through various heavy music layers, ROTTING CHRIST has developed a distinctive sound, serving the band an exclusive place in Black Metal kingdom.

The four reached their Olympos top in 2007, when they released their ninth albums “Theogonia”. This rare gem picked up all the best reviews by critics and fans. Black Metal veterans added ancient melodies to their usual sound. Those melodies spiced up the album really good. It is said, that it is hard to outgrow the masterpieces. However, ROTTING CHRIST show an enviable determination to go forward without looking back. The latest three albums “Aealo”, “Κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού”, “Rituals” and “The Heretics” simply can’t be compared with one another because every one of them is unique and reviewed with the highest evaluations by critics and warmly welcomed by the audience. These Greeks are completely not afraid of a challenge to translate this rich history into a universal language of Metal music.

ROTTING CHRIST love the Lithuanian audience and we are sure that this feeling is mutual! We just cannot wait for this special performance - it is not only the 35th anniversary, but the band will present their newest album which they are currently recording! We are sure that this band is simply not able to drop down their level even a little bit!
